How to make Banana Walnut Cake. Lower calories, Less Sugar.

Ingredients:

Refined flour 1.5 Cups

Powdered Sugar 1/2 Cup (for less sugar version, 1 cup for regular sugar version)

Butter 1/2 Cup

Baking Powder 1 Tsp

Egg 1 (or use 2 Tbsp curd/plain yogurt for the eggless version)

Chopped Walnuts 1/2 Cup

Banana 2-3 (Mashed or Pureed)

Cinnamon Powder 1/2 Tsp

Vanilla Essence 1/4 Tsp

Milk 3-5 Tbsp


Method:

  1. Sieve Flour, Baking Powder, Cinnamon Powder together, then add walnuts to it, and keep it aside.

  2. Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy.

  3. Then add the sieved flour mix, mashed banana, egg (or plain yogurt/curd), and milk, alternately, to the butter and sugar mix.

  4. Add vanilla essence, and mix well.

  5. Put it into the cake mould, and

  6. Bake it at 180 degrees, for 30 - 40 mins. (this may vary slightly depending on your oven).

  7. Conduct the toothpick test (pierce a toothpick, at the centre of the cake. If it comes out clean, then the cake is done).

  8. Serve.

*Pre-heat the oven at 180.
