Idli & Chana Daal Chutney Recipe - Low calorie indian veg breakfast option for healthy weight loss.

Idli Recipe


Ingredients:

3 Cups Parboiled Rice

1 Cup Urad Daal

Salt to taste

Water for grinding and consistency


Method:

  1. Soak the rice in water overnight or for 8 hours. Wash & grind to a thick paste

  2. Soak the Urad Daal in water overnight or for 8 hours. Wash & grind to a thick paste

  3. Mix both the paste in a deep vessel and let it ferment for 8 more hours, till it fluffs up to twice it's quantity

  4. Stir it with a ladle and add salt to taste.

  5. Pour the batter in the idli mould

  6. Steam cook till done


Chutney Recipe


Ingredients

1-2 cup chana daal

2-3 green chillies

2 inch ginger

Salt to taste

Water for grinding and desired consistency


For Tempering:

1/3 tsp mustard seeds

1-2 Dry Red Chilly

1 tsp oil

A pinch of Hing (Asafoetida)

1-2 sprig Curry Leaves


Method:

  1. Dry roast the chana daal and soak it in water for 30-40mins

  2. Add water and grind the soaked chana daal, green chillies, ginger and salt in the mixer

  3. Transfer it into a container and add more water to get the desired consistency

  4. Add salt accordingly

  5. Heat oil, add all the tempering ingredients, let them splutter, pour it on the chutney, mix well and serve with the idli's.
